Magdalena Lowery

Veterinarian

Dr. Dominguez-Lowery is from the Chicago land area and is a graduate of the University of Illinois. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in animal sciences and a minor in chemistry. She loved Champaign-Urbana so much she stayed and earned her veterinary medicine degree in 2008.

In 2009 she completed a rotating small animal medicine and emergency internship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She continued practicing emergency medicine for a few years before moving to Georgia with her husband, who is currently active duty ARMY.

In 2020, her family moved to Colorado Springs, and she's been practicing small animal medicine and surgery at local practices, providing relief services. Her hobbies include wildlife and pollinator gardening, spending time with her family and pets, cooking, baking and hiking. She's owned by a German Shepherd named Czar, a rescue mixed breed sweet baby named Shyla, and an avocado loving cat named Bubbles.  She is a native Spanish speaker and is happy to serve your companion animals as if they were her own.

Fun fact:

She's had her gardens certified by Monarchs Across Georgia, Monarch Waystation, and National Wildlife Federation. She and her family have raised  monarch, zebra longwing, black swallowtail, tiger swallowtail, gulf fritillary and countless other species of caterpillars and released monarch butterflies to embark on their southern and western migration. This summer the family plans to tag the monarch butterflies in hopes to track them to their wintering habits in Mexico and California.
